Cougs hire Wulff

I remember this guy at WSU. Now he's the coach! Very odd. No-huddle offense coming. Even more strange.

Cougs Humiliate the Zags

What a great win for the Cougs, sneaking away with a thriller and handing the Zags their second loss ever on whatever court they play on. Sending Stockton home with a frown. Several questionaable calls only delayed the inevitable. Tho i think the Cougs are overrated (zero offensive weapons will catch up to them) this clearly was a huge win.

Go Cougs!

Cougs Win!

What a great win by the Cougs. As flawed as Alex Brink is, he has now beaten the Dogs three times.

I think the photo at left, with the priceless look on the husky coach's face, says it all.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving (or as i like to amusingly call it, 'turkey day') from Vero Beach, Florida. Darcy and I stayed with a local family, whose everyday life is a constant struggle. Wait, that's Sarah's vacation. Actually, I'm golfing and Darcy is shopping in the day time, then it's chit chat with the inlaws and their friends. Not much else to do here, but at least the weather is nice.

Susie, we went on a Norway ride at Epcot Center (or, as i like to amusingly call it, 'yawnsville') and after it was done, they wouldn't let us out. We asked the ride handler and she was Norwegian! Thick accent couldn't understand her. Then we realized that they were forcing everyone who took the ride to watch a film on Norway. Once the film started, everyone left.

Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!

Tennis Anyone?

This is the one I was thinking of. Thank you RUTH for inviting to the blog. I'm sitting in an African hut with no running water or electricity. But they do have internet. Lucky for me. Off to Nepal!

Shirtless + satin = Seventies style

This rabbit tooth grin does look familiar, but i still maintain that it was an Andy Gibb poster that Mary had.

Embarrassing posters

Speaking of embarrassing posters, didn't Mary have this one of a very clean cut Andy Gibb?

Picture this ...

About 7 feet by 3 feet. Tho my favorite was the brooks robinson poster, with the faint-praise caption: there's no one else quite like him.

Like Father, Like Son

Early this morning, at about 1 a.m., Daniel got sick to his stomach over the side of his top bunk bed onto the floor below. Upon entering his room, I was immediately taken back to 1972, when I recall doing the exact same thing. The only thing missing was a full-size Mark Spitz poster.

We Won UCLA!!!

Cougs get a nice win, thanks to a Bruin team that clearly didn't want to be in Pullman.

More Nickel Slot News

A man who won a $1.6 million in nickel slots at a casino in New Mexico has been told he really didn't win. Casino said it was a 'computer error.' They instead gave him $383 and some meal coupons. The man is suing.

Nickel slots: Man wins $3 million

Some guy (whose wife name is Dorthea) won a big jackpot in South Dakota. Dogsitters, i think it's time to start playing the Marilyn Monroe Jackpot machine.

The man says he won't quit his job, despite the payday. Jackass.

'Cavemen'

I love the Geico cavemen so tuned into ABC to watch. What a bizarre show! They only reference themselves as cavemen every so often; the rest is just straight sitcom stuff, only they're in caveman make up.

I had more fun watching this video of the flintstones smoking. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ntrsMAlIQWA

Halloween costumes

What's the early buzz on Halloween costumes among the kids? Does Norway observe Halloween? Are Katie and Jane 'too cool' for costumes/treats this year?

Darcy to Tour the World!

...a world of knick-knacks, wine and furniture as a new employee of Cost Plus Markets in Redmond. Her teaching requirements classes start next week too, so she'll be busy.

She gets a 30% discount, so if you need a teak African mask...

No More Crutches

News From Everett:

Emily is off her crutches after her horrific sprained ankle. The only thing that made it better was to be on crutches for her classmates to see. Once that got taken care of, she was much better and may only miss one soccer game after all.

Daniel is playing soccer instead of football this year. In his first game, he had three penalties - thought he was playing football still. In the second game, the goalie on the opposing team, with a 4-1 lead, took off from his own goal with the ball, dribbling to around midfield when out of nowhere Daniel came and performed a "you don't do that kind of showboating on this field" slide tackle - took him right out. All of us on the losing team put that play as a highlight.

Andrew is also playing soccer and having good time. He did put up a fuss about playing goalie, prompting the coach to ask "Is he going to speak to me again?"

Mary Kate is fine - new schedule puts her at work at 6:30, home at 3:00, so someone can be home with the kids.

John is adjusting to his low-level dean status after enjoying the high life of a VP. Turns out as VP the only budget he didn't take care of was in the area where he is now the dean. Rotten deal.

That's it for now. Go Cougs (v. USC this weekend)!

Is Norway Interested in OJ?

I wonder how they're covering the latest OJ arrest in Norway.

Beeping Mystery Solved

The strange beeping noise that had plagued Darcy and I for two weeks has finally been located and silenced. It was indeed a smoke alarm in the attic, well hidden behind a rafter. (For those unaware, Darcy and I would stand in silence, ears cocked, trying to figure out where the damn beep was coming from.) Theories ranged from an electronic toy stuck on the roof to a tiny bird.

Welcome Baby Roman!!
