The Lovely Martha?!

Forgot to show everyone the boat we saw while walking on Pier 39 in San Francisco....that's right, the Lovely Martha! We sure had a good chuckle over that! What a coincidence! Can anyone else find a boat with a similar name? The Beautiful Ruth? The Ravishing Susie? The Stunning Mary? The Fair Sarah? The Pretty Mike? The Gorgeous John?

Chimacum reunion recap

this is for mary: The chimacum reunion seemed like a mixed bag. Melissa Thacker expressed disappointment that not a lot of people showed up for the friday ("we shoudln't get bitter at those who didn't show," she wrote). And Tom said everyone got way too bombed at the dance, but ultimately he enjoyed the event. Not much else to report. P

Rappy Rather's Ray!

Dear Grandpa,
I wanted my own post so we could talk about memories. Remember how I like to go for a walk, even in the snow and bitter cold? How great am I! And how I can pee yellow right by the porch?

Remember how I like to walk around in your garden? Good times.

Thank you for all the walks. I know Sarah thinks I am her dog, but I just might be a multi-family dog. Shhh--don't tell her! She still lets me ride on her lap.

Love
Buster "Bustor" Olson

Video of Emily's Graduation

Sorry to post over you, John, but I wanted to add a brief video of Emily's class singing a goodbye.  I pan to the audience where you can see Tom, Judy, and Kara who also attended.

Congrats, Emily!  We're so proud of you!!

Things I could've bought for $400, part III

Third installment of things I could've bought instead of forking over that cash to help a kitty.

Today (June 3): A birthday gift for John's big 50th. I saved all year to get John a fabulous $400 gift. Had to take it back to take care of Carlo, but man you should've seen it. Full restoration of SAL (the car), with a restored Tin Soldier in the glove box and his Punt, Pass & Kick trophy as the hood ornament. Painted on the side were his scoring average in HS basketball (12 ppg.), his interceptions record in football (12 picks per year) and his career HS batting average (.012). Touching stuff, really would've taken the sting out of turning 50.

That darn cat!
