Nick or treat!
Trick or treating in the rich neighborhood with his buddy Harrison.
He couldn't dress as spider-man during school due to the politically correct policy to ignore halloween and instead focus on 'fall harvest'...so here he is as a scarecrow. Note the straw in the pantlegs.
Here he is in what the package called "funny disguise" presumably to avoid a lawsuit from the Groucho Marx estate.

Happy 80th Birthday Dad video now available
Here's the video you've all been waiting for, especially if you missed the event.
As you can see, it took quite a few people to figure out how to light the candles.

And this one just because it made me laugh so hard.

Isn't that what we'd call Mom when she couldn't hear us? Anyone know why? Was he some hearing aid guy?
Norway TV story
Do you find yourself overwhelmed
by the nonstop pace of televised sports, or frightened by the
excitement of the average sitcom? Then maybe it's time to fly to Norway
to park yourself in front of the NRK network. Next month, the national
broadcaster will be airing "National Knitting Night," a sure-to-be
riveting five-hour program that follows serious needle-wielders as they
attempt to set a world record for knitting a sweater from start to
finish (and by "start," they mean from the point when the participants
shear the sheep).This
heart-stopping knitathon is the latest installment in Norway's ongoing
"Slow TV" phenomenon; previous series have included a real-time
broadcast of a 10-hour train trip from Oslo to Bergen, as well as
"National Firewood Night," which featured eight hours of logs burning in
a fireplace. Would somebody wake us when the knitting starts? [Source]

Pangrazi Award Winner!
Congrats, Dad!
The Cle Elum City Council plans to present the 2013 Pangrazi Memorial Service Award to Lloyd Olson during its next meeting.
Olson, a retired educator, has served as principal of the Cle Elum Roslyn School District’s Swiftwater Learning Center, assisted with school levy campaigns, filled in as a substitute principal and interim superintendent at local schools and lobbied for retired school employees, according to letters written in support of his nomination for the award.
He has been involved with hospital district issues, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kiwanis Clubs, the United Way of Kittitas County and more. He became chair of the Taylor Bridge Fire Long Term Recovery Group, which provides assistance to those affected by the 2012 wildfire.
“I don’t think I have ever met a person who keeps a more positive attitude and works continually to make our community a better place,” said Kittitas County Commissioner Gary Berndt in his letter supporting Olson’s nomination. Berndt said he considers Olson a mentor.
The Pangrazi Award — named for former Cle Elum City Council member and longtime judge Paul Pangrazi — recognizes community minded citizens who strive to make Upper Kittitas County a quality place to live.
“Award recipients must have accumulated a record of distinguished service that benefits the citizens of Cle Elum,” says an advertisement seeking nominations for the award on the city of Cle Elum’s Facebook page. Recipients of the award are selected by a committee of city leaders that includes multiple city council members.
The Pangrazi award comes with a $1,000 cash prize, a plaque for the winner and recognition on a larger plaque displayed in Cle Elum City Hall. Nominations for the award were taken between July 8 and July 26.
“I know there are many people that make this community great,” said Cle Elum-Roslyn School District Superintendent Mark Flatau in a letter of support for Olson. “Olson is somewhere on the top of the list.”
