The memorial day services which Dad was in charge of (dangling participle) went beautifully. It lasted onehalf hour, great speech by Gene Sharratt, and Leona's granddaughter sang "american tears" excellent. About 60 people showed, not a huge crowd but certainly respectable for the weather, no rain or wind however. Dad did a terrific job, thanks to Sarah for the program which the two of them did on the computer. We have copies. Good point, Martha..nice job dad, what an amazing community leader..and thanks to sarah and mom, too. I always had great appreciation for veterans, but after watching all 10 episodes of The Pacific (which is the new companion series to Band of Brothers), it's even more so. Unbelievably well done show, btw.
Today I learned all about the Navy uniform, why they have bell bottoms and the difference between WWI Navy uniform and WWII. Something about a blasted eagle patch. Some sort of patch that WWII guys got. Ruptured eagle maybe?
I did learn on the show about Vegas Pawn shops but still...

That's weird because I've never watched it before and it is a good show. Kind of like Antique Roadshow with a twist.
